Scotland - Milngavie

Our first travel - a weekend in Scotland.
We traveled to Glasgow on a quick flight on Friday night, and stayed at the Strathblane Countr House in Milngavie. It was a quaint inn, whose owners had just bought it 8 weeks ago and are completely re-vamping it. (Sparking my own dreams even further...) It had all that an inn should have, huge fireplace, deep sofas, good rustic food and wine on a rainy night and the best part - a big, old lab to welcome you.

Saturday we walked (a few hours walk) to the Glengoyne Scotch Distillery where we had a master blending session - and actually blended our own scotch. Learning about the history of scotch and this distillery through a man who had moved to Scotland from Northern Ireland was an amazing experience made even better when he was kind enough to drive us back to the inn, sparing us from the long walk home.

We have a very similar picture of me in front of many stoppered vials blending perfume in the south of France. Scotch is much cooler and more useful. We will come see you soon - you are just as close as you were, just in another direction...
